#163 Automate Your Life Series Kickoff!
Jan 26, 2021 Season 7 Episode 163
Deanna Mason

There are three pillars to becoming a Refreshed Mom:

  • Consistent habits around nurturing your faith.
  • Consistent rhythms of rest.
  • and Consistent revenue.

It's the integration of all three that create the feelings of refreshment we all desire to feel as a mom and entrepreneur.

And one of the MAIN ways to accomplish this is learning how to automate certain parts of your life and business - in a way that creates more margin and white space.

In this episode, I'm kicking off my first round of conversations in my Automate Your Life Series!

I'll explore different ways we can save time, take some things off our plate, and make room for the rest we need.

I'm excited to get started!

Welcome to the Refreshed Moms podcast. My name is Deanna Mason, your host, and I'm so happy to have you here.

I'm so excited about this. I have been working on this series for about three months now. As I work on focusing on helping you learn how to rest, well, rest better and make room for opportunities to rest. One of the things that I feel is extremely important is for you to learn how to automate your life. How to comb through the areas of your life that need to be made easy, spend less time in, taken off your plate completely, and put automation around those processes. And this series is designed to highlight different parts of your mom and entrepreneur experience, to see if we can make some room. Let's see if we can find more room for rest and find more room for your consistent faith practices. Let's find more room to work. If you need more time to work on your business, wherever you're needing to make more room. Let's see if we can automate your life in a way that does that. So this is the intro episode, I just kind of wanted to set the stage for all the beautiful and amazing voices and smart minds that are going to be sharing with the Refreshed Moms community. Let me just tee it up for you.

With this episode on automating your life, let's kick it off with just a little bit of understanding around what I'm talking about. So when I'm talking about automating your life, I'm really talking about putting automation in place, as well as delegation in place. So we're going to be considering how to automate and delegate.

What are the differences in those two? So when I'm talking about automation, I'm specifically talking about the tools that allow you to create a systemic, systematic approach to getting things done. Let me say that one more time. When I'm talking about automation, I'm talking about tools that you can put in place that allow you to create a systematic approach to getting things done.

Okay. Now, delegation, I think, you can understand that a little easier. But when I talk about delegation, I'm thinking of the mom that is currently over functioning. So delegation is part of my three ways to stop over functioning, you can listen to my entire episode on how to approach eliminating over functioning in Episode 151, with my friend, Kelly Reese, and former podcast co host on “Dear Mama, Please Stop Over Functioning”. So circle back to that, to get the entire teaching on three ways to eliminate over function.

But just as a recap, my three ways to eliminate over functioning, over functioning meaning, you're doing way more than you need to do. You're over functioning. The first step is to understand what actually needs to be done. So understanding what are the things that must be done. The second step is to understand from that list of things that must be done, what's on that list that you do not have to do. So there's a difference in something needing to be done and something that needs to be done that can be delegated. The last step is to surrender what won't get done. Sometimes you get to the point where you just have to let things go. When you realize, you know what, I don't have the time, I don't have the energy, I don't have the capacity, I don't have the wisdom to execute this particular thing. Sometimes you just gotta surrender and let it go. And pick it back up at another time. The second step is understanding what needs to be done that you don't have to do and that's where the delegation part of my automate, and delegate, teaching comes in.

So, over the next few weeks, I believe seven weeks total. It's gonna be a great seven weeks, you guys, we're gonna be hopping on and talking about some of these topics with some of my friends, some of my business buddies and people that I have met as I've sought out voices to speak into your ability to automate and delegate. So I want to just share with you really quickly the seven topics that we're going to be covering. So you can just tune in, and be prepared to take notes and learn from all these amazing people.

We're going to talk about organizing your home, automating your home organization. So if creating systems around decluttering, and organizing your spaces is something that you'd like to be able to do, cleaning up toys at the end of the day, or managing your children spaces, and play areas, whatever those things are, we're going to talk about how to create some automation around decluttering and organizing your home.

We're talking about automation around your wardrobe. Now the reason why I wanted to talk about wardrobe is I am a believer in I should say, a believer believing is the wrong word, but I tend to wear the same clothes every single week. So like you could see me on a Facebook Live one Monday and that very next week, I'll have on the very same thing because I wear the same thing over and over again. The reason I do this is because I don't like to think too much about my clothing. I work from home. So you know, there's I don't have to look all that put together when I work from home. So I keep it simple. But here's the thing. I do want to be able to diversify my looks and when I'm going live and when I'm recording videos and things like that, I would like to have some type of automation around how I prepare for Facebook lives and how I look when I'm recording. You know, these are just things that as entrepreneurs, we may think about. So I have a friend coming on to share with us how we can create some systems around creating our attire for the workweek, even though we work at home. That minimises our choices, but allows us to still look stylish and put together. Okay, so we're gonna talk about some automation around our wardrobe.

We're gonna talk about meals, and meal planning. This is a big, huge thing for me. I have been chipping away at this for about three months on meal planning, and I'm going to share with you some of the things that I've discovered and things that are working well for me, in order for you to create some automation, and maybe even some delegation around your meal plans.

I'm gonna have my great, awesome buddy and friend, Dana Malstaff Hop on and we're going to have a conversation about the power of evergreen marketing, or creating an evergreen business. This is something that Apostle set back to study for myself, the last half of 2020 because I knew I had to make some room in my life to work on my nonprofit Needle Movers for Social Equity. When I felt God telling me to start this nonprofit, pause, because I hear my family in the kitchen. So if you hear beeping, and microwaves closing and things like that, you know what, I'm sorry but it's just part of the mom entrepreneur situation. So you may be hearing some of that background. Now it's being picked up on microphone. But when God started moving on my heart to start, Needle Movers, the biggest hesitation was time. I didn't know how to make room for it. I didn't know how to make time for it. I felt like I was already maxed. I felt like I was at my capacity, and I didn't want to feel burned out. I didn't want to feel tired and exhausted. And so I asked God well, if you want me to do it, you’ll have to show me how to spend less time with Refreshed Moms, in order to make room for Needle Movers. I started studying how to create some systems in my business, in order to automate my marketing and create a more evergreen approach to the things that I offer to my community. I hire people. I was like, who do I need to have on my team? So I can start delegating some of these things that still need to happen once again, what things must be done, but what are the things that must be done that I don't have to do right? So. I started to identify what those things were in my business so that I can start delegating those tasks and cut my hours back to Refreshed Moms. So I can put some hours in with Needle Movers.

I enjoy doing that for my business so much. I decided to create the Refreshed Moms four month reset, which is my I want to call it a membership but it's really not a membership but it's a four month reset that allows you to come in and restructure your business to create an evergreen approach to your revenue.

The idea behind creating an evergreen approach to your revenue is to make more time for you to be able to rest and nurture your faith and to spend time with your family to take sabbaticals. That's the ultimate goal, I want you to be able to set your business up in a way that you can step away from it for 30 days or more and still make money, your business can still grow, you can still get clients on your calendar, you can still sell stuff while you are off vacationing somewhere, or you're taking a break to write your book or to have maternity leave. Whatever those things are, you don't have to worry about your business generating income, you don't have to worry about your business, growing and making money and adding new people to your community because you have your evergreen structure set up. I've dedicated the whole Refreshed Moms four month reset to creating that for you. Especially if right now you're feeling like Deanna, I am burned out. Or, I'm on the verge of it and I need to pause and if I pause that means I don't make money. So if that is you, the Refreshed Moms four month reset is exactly what you need. So let me just talk about it just for a second. If you are feeling that way. Or if you are attracted to an evergreen approach to setting up your business, whether you are just serving want to work one on one clients or you actually have things that you sell, it doesn't really matter, whatever your business is, we can evergreen it.  I'm going to teach you how to do it with my friend in the Refreshed Moms format the reset. So go to DeannaMason.com/membership. It's not a membership, I don't know what to call it, it's a four month reset, we're gonna do this in four months and if you feel like you're going to need support after those four months, I can give you some options. But I want you to take four months of your life to set up your evergreen business, that's what I want. So DeannaMason.com/membership, or just go into the show notes, hop on a discovery call with me and let me see if this is a good fit for you. It is very, very financially accessible, that is really important to me to make my skill set accessible to you. I'm telling you, if this is something you want to do, it's financially accessible for you to be able to do it and hop on a discovery call. Let me talk to you about it. Let me hear what you're trying to do and see if it's a good fit.

Anyway, we're gonna have a whole podcast episode on evergreen, marketing and creating an evergreen business. We're going to talk about hiring a team. So if you are like, well Deanna shoot, I think I need to hire a team but I don't know how to go about hiring a team. And can I afford to hire a team, you know, I’m a team, maybe just one person right now. You know, or it could be someone just to edit your podcast. It doesn't have to be a huge group of people but we're going to talk about how to decide on who to bring on in order to delegate some of the things you have going on in your business. We're also going to talk about how to choose a VA right now. A VA for most people is one of the first things they do to bring someone on their team to be a virtual assistant is what VA stands for. So I'm going to bring on my VA, Ally Stiffer. Ally forgive me if I'm saying your name wrong. Well, I'm gonna bring her on and let her talk about choosing a VA and how to decide how to leverage a VA in your business.

Last but absolutely, certainly not least, we're going to talk about creating consistent consistency around your prayer and Bible study. It may even sound a little crazy to say like this, but how to create some automation around nurturing your faith.

All right, seven weeks of greatness. If you are not in the Facebook community, I invite you to come there. We have a good time over there. We laugh but it's just a place for you to celebrate resting while celebrating. Your ability to find opportunities to rest is the place where I want to support you in creating consistent faith, nurturing rituals, practices and rhythms in a supportive place. I want to support you in creating an evergreen approach to your business.

So hop in Refreshed Moms Facebook Group or DeannaMason.com/refreshedmomsgroup.

It'll take you there. Just go to the show notes. You'll find the link or just go on Facebook and type in Refreshed Moms Community and you'll find me.

That is it. I hope you're excited about this. I'm excited about this. Please Remember, before you hop off, can you leave a star rating or review. Star rating and review preferably before you go because that is how I get in front of more people. That is how I build my reach and is one of the ways for my podcast to be seen and, and put in front of other moms like you. So if you can just take one minute to leave a star rating and a honest review before you hop off, that'd be amazing. Alright, that's it you guys. I'm looking forward to hopping in this series with you and we will chat again next week. Stay refreshed.
